The Crassulacea family has representatives in all parts of the world from the hot and dry desert regions to the cold and moist alpine locations. Most are blessed with a hardy nature that can bring a smile to those poor souls cursed with the black thumb. This family seems to enjoy the widest appeal among plant collectors.

Thick, coin-shaped leaves make this a very interesting jade plant. Great for container culture as it can be kept trimmed, displaying its papery, peeling trunk. For more mature specimen, see Crassula arborescens 5gal.
