Cuttings

Cuttings offer an easy and cheap way of propagating plants. Simply allow to heal off for a few weeks and then plant them directly in the soil. This type of propagation should be done during the warmer months. May, June, July, or August, here in California. This is an ancient and tried method of propagation.

Trichocereus Pachanoi One Foot Tip Cut

Trichocereus pachanoi, 1 foot tip cut
Produces incredible flowers. Check out our close-up photo of the flower. Very fragrant also. A great garden cactus that can grow like a tree up to 4 meters. Cuttings can be easily rooted directly in the ground during the warmer months. Recommended May through August. They come in one or two foot long pieces. Take your choice.

Trichocereus Pachanoi One Foot Center Cut

Trichocereus pachanoi, 1 foot center cut
Although this cutting has no growing shoot tip you can simply lay this center cut horizontally on the ground in a well draining area and it will spontaneously root, producing shoots from all the areols. This is a great way to produce many shoots. No need to water at all.
